Removing a password from a PDF on Linux

Some times we get our bills and statements with password protected. There is situation like you want to share one of the document which secured to others but you don't want to reveal the password. In this case, simply remove the password from your side and send that unsecured document. So, this is the procedure to remove the password from your secured document

You should have pdftops and ps2pdf on you PC. If you don't have these, then install with following command. i.e., apt-get install pdftops ps2pdf
Convert the secured pdf to ps format: pdftops -upw{filename}.pdf
Then convert back that ps file to pdf file: ps2pdf{filename}.ps
The only thing you loss are any PDF-specific features which don't traslate to postscript, e.g. hyperlinks.

Remember, this only works if you know the password for the PDF file, it doesn't break the PDF password for you.
